While there is still much uncertainty with respect to the impacts of COVID-19, the safety and well-being of our members and employees remain top priority. As a result of this unprecedented pandemic and in line with direction provided by health authorities and government officials, the park, lake and all MLRA property closed on March 16th and remains closed at this time.
On April 30th, the government of Alberta released a relaunch strategy in an effort to safety stage a COVID-19 recovery plan to open the economy. Although the province has eased restrictions on some outdoor recreation, many activities are still prohibited, and many facilities must remain closed completely. It is still unclear whether MLRA will be permitted to open in phase 1 and we are currently waiting on direction and guidelines from Alberta Health Services. We ask for your continued patience at this time and we will update our members when we have a definitive answer.
What we do know is that when MLRA is permitted to open it will be in a reduced capacity with many closures and restrictions still in place. Although we cannot confirm closures at this time, the Board has determined that members will not be permitted to bring in any guests, and access to the facility and use of any open amenities/activities will be restricted to members of your immediate household only. The Board has also determined that the minimum age for a member to enter the facility without a parent will be sixteen (16), rather than twelve (12).
When MLRA does open we will provide our members with a detailed list of closures and mandatory procedures that all members must follow.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding during this difficult time.
